In excerpts published in Variety on Tuesday , Ronan Farrow's upcoming book "Catch and Kill" details an account from former NBC employee Brooke Nevils, who said Matt Lauer raped her in his hotel room in 2014.
Lauer's former "Today" show colleagues Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb commented on the rape allegations on-air Wednesday morning, calling them "shocking and appalling."
Kotb said the moment felt similar to two years ago, when Lauer was fired after NBC said an employee had accused him of "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace."
