Arizona Iced Tea and Adidas permanently closed a New York City pop-up before it opened to the public, after two teenagers were assaulted in the massive crowd waiting to enter .
The promise of Arizona Iced Tea-branded sneakers for just $0.99 attracted crowds of people willing to wait overnight to get their hands on the shoes.
The companies said that the "collaboration will still be available to the public at a later time."

Adidas and Arizona Iced Tea recently collaborated to create two sneaker designs that cost $0.99 each. They were set to be released at a New York City pop-up store on Thursday morning.
But before the store even opened on the first day, the event quickly devolved into chaos - police shut it down after two teenagers were assaulted in line. Hundreds of people had turned up for the event.
"I can't be out here, risking my life for a pair of 99-cent sneakers," one eyewitness told Business Insider.

Police shut down a pop-up selling Arizona Iced Tea-branded Adidas sneakers for 99 cents in New York City on Thursday due to safety concerns.
The event drew massive crowds, with fans of Adidas and Arizona Iced Tea waiting in line overnight in hopes of getting the sneakers.
Two teenagers were assaulted at the event, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to Business Insider, with one eyewitness saying a teenage girl was hit over the head with a bottle.
