Oracle CEO Mark Hurd died on October 18, 2019 , at the age of 62.
Earlier this year, he spoke about his leadership style and strategy at the tech company in an episode of Business Insider's podcast " This Is Success ."
Hurd joined as president in 2010 and soon began an overhaul of the company's sales team to prepare for an industrywide shift to cloud software. He said he faced a lot of pushback after making that call.

Oracle CEO Mark Hurd has died. He was 62.
The company on Friday confirmed his death. Hurd was on medical leave, and the company did not disclose a cause of death.
Hurd led two high-profile Silicon Valley companies - Oracle and computer maker Hewlett-Packard.
He took a leave of absence from Oracle a month ago for health reasons. Larry Ellison, Oracle's founder and chairman, said at the time that he and co-CEO Safra Catz would take over his responsibilities.

Oracle employees and tech workers mourn CEO Mark Hurd, who died at the age of 62

Mark Hurd , co-CEO of database giant Oracle , died Friday at age 62 .
Hurd's death follows news in September that he was taking a leave of absence "to spend time focused on my health."
Immediately after news of his passing broke, Oracle employees took to Twitter to mourn the CEO and express their condolences to his friends and family.
