One person died and another was injured in double shooting in New Bedford on Friday, authorities said.
Police also arrested an 18-year-old man who opened fire on officers before he was apprehended, according to a statement from the office of Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn III. No officers were injured and the officers did not return fire.
Police responding to 911 calls at about 10:30 a.m. found the first victim, identified as Angel Cruz, 40. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
