Alexey Navalny has arrived in Moscow after spending several months recuperating in Berlin. He was detained at the airport for violating probation terms.
The plane carrying Navalny was due to land in Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, but it was instead diverted to the capital's Sheremetyevo Airport. The airliner told the media that the last-minute change happened due to “technical issues” on the ground.
The activist left the plane and entered the airport via shuttle bus. He was then detained by police during documents check at the arrivals terminal.

Russian police in full riot gear have begun to push a large crowd out of Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, that came to see opposition activist Alexey Navalny's return to Russia.
Officers used loudspeakers to demand that people “leave” the airport's arrivals terminal and go outside. “Only ticket-holders can enter the airport,” they said.
Supporters and news crews have gathered in Vnukovo to meet Navalny, who is due to arrive from Berlin on Sunday evening.

Prominent opposition activists have been arrested at Moscow's Vnukovo airport where they gathered to greet their leader, Alexei Navalny, who is returning to Russia from Germany after recovering from an alleged poisoning attempt.
Lyubov Sobol and Ruslan Shaveddinov from Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation were detained at one of the cafes inside the airport, along with activist Konstantin Kotov. The reason for their arrest currently remains undisclosed.
According to various media reports, around a dozen of Navalny's supporters have so far been apprehended by police at Vnukovo.
