Silence hung over the crowd gathered outside the Massachusetts State House Wednesday morning as the American flag was raised to half mast, honoring the thousands of lives lost 18 years ago in the September 11 attacks.
Following the singing of the national anthem and a reciting of the poem “We Remember Them,” heads bowed collectively on both the State House steps and Beacon Street as Gov. Charlie Baker began the annual reading of the 206 local residents' names who were killed during the attack.

Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives 18 years ago at the World Trade Center on September 11. These are their names

There are nearly 3,000 names etched in bronze on the September 11 Memorial. They honor the 2,753 people killed in the attack on the Word Trade Center. Each of their names will be read at the memorial on Wednesday morning, the 18th anniversary of September 11, 2001 .
If you want to find each name, you can check the panel address next to them - N for the north pool, S for the south, followed by a number
