Theresa May Will Resign as British Prime Minister After Failing to Deliver Brexit

Theresa May will resign as leader of Britain's ruling Conservative Party on June 7, she announced on the steps of 10 Downing Street on Friday morning. She will remain Prime Minister until a new leader is chosen by her party , in a contest which will begin the following week and conclude some time in the summer.
She will have served as British Prime Minister for three years.

Theresa May has announced her resignation as prime minister and Conservative Party leader.
May was forced to quit after her attempt to bring forward the legislation to enact Brexit triggered a collapse in support for her among Conservative MPs.
Senior members of May's Cabinet told her that her plans no longer had their support.
She will stand down as leader on Firday June 7 but remain in post while the Conservative party elect her successor.
