Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York is the latest Democratic contender to drop out of the 2020 presidential primary.
Insider's polling has found that hardly any Democrats thought de Blasio could defeat Trump, even compared to other low-polling candidates.
De Blasio didn't have a devoted base: Most of his fans were considering eight other contenders on average.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Vice President Joe Biden stand to gain. Three-quarters of de Blasio's base were also fans of them.

New York's Mayor Bill de Blasio has abandoned hopes for the Oval Office and called it quits on his 2020 presidential campaign, which consistently failed to crack one percent in the polls and was plagued by a torrent of gaffes.
“I feel like I've contributed all I can to this primary election and it's clearly not my time,” de Blasio told the hosts of Morning Joe on Friday. “So I'm going to end my presidential campaign.”
