Cuomo taps Jay Jacobs to run New York's Democratic Party

Jay Jacobs wasn't Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's choice to run the state's Democratic Party in 2012, but he likes him for the job now. The governor announced on Monday morning that the Nassau County Democratic Committee chair will replace incumbent state Chair Byron Brown, who took over the role in 2016. Jacobs has run the county committee since 2001 and was previously appointed state chair by then-Gov.
