Baseball Hall of Fame rejects politically outspoken star Curt Schilling

The Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday chose not to induct Curt Schilling, the star pitcher whose candidacy was colored by controversial political statements.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, based in Cooperstown, N.Y., announced that Schilling had received 71 percent of the vote from the hundreds of writers who make up its electorate, leaving him short of the required 75 percent.
