Trump pushes back on reports US will remove China tariffs

President Donald Trump on Friday dismissed a Chinese official's assertion that his administration has agreed to roll back some the higher tariffs it's imposed on Chinese goods. The Chinese official had said Thursday that the two sides had agreed to a phased cancellation of their tariff hikes as part of an emerging agreement.

President Donald Trump said today he hasn't agreed to lift or reduce any tariffs on Chinese goods, one day after a Chinese government spokesperson said the two sides were in agreement on that. "Well, they would like to have a rollback. I haven't agreed to anything," Trump told reporters on the White House lawn. "China would like to get somewhat of a rollback.
