Boston city councilor: Other must step up on homeless

Quincy, Brockton and other cities whose homeless and addicts are flooding into Boston need to pay up as the growing public health crisis taxes Boston's resources, City Councilor Annissa Essaibi George said yesterday. More than half of the nearly 3,000 first-time homeless in Boston's shelters are from outside the city, George said, citing the 2016 homeless census figures as the most recent comprehensive numbers available.
