Overnight storm knocks out power for nearly 1,000 in Boston

Nearly 1,000 homes in Boston were without power Saturday morning after heavy rain fell across eastern and central Massachusetts throughout the night, canceling ferries and flooding streets across the city.
“With heavy rain in progress, we are keeping a close eye on river levels across the region,” the National Weather Service tweeted.
According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, 987 customers were without power in Boston as of 11 a.m.
A flood watch was initially issued early Friday morning - as forecasters expected the storm to bring up to three inches of rain - and stayed...
