Baker deserves praise for boosting spending without raising taxes

This month, Gov. Charlie Baker released his long-awaited fiscal year 2021 budget proposal, which, though imperfect in the eyes of his many critics, is a major victory for Massachusetts residents and businesses. The governor would raise state spending from the $44.6 billion he proposed in January to $45.5 billion and do so without a tax increase.
