Cam Newton accepts responsibilities for Patriots' loss to 49ers

As Cam Newton tried to flush out one of the ugliest performances of his career, the Patriots quarterback faced a reality check.
Newton was benched and replaced by backup Jarrett Stidham in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 33-6 loss to the 49ers, where he threw for just 98 yards and three interceptions. And though he wasn't surprised it happened, and Bill Belichick said afterward that he would remain the starting quarterback moving forward, Newton still took the change as another reason he needs to get better - and quickly.
