McCoy, big fifth inning powers Methuen past Dracut in MVC softball

METHUEN - Dracut pitcher Ryley White has been a thorn in the Methuen softball team's side for quite some time now, but Tuesday afternoon, her opposition proved to be a bit sharper.
Behind a complete-game effort from junior Jill McCoy and a five-run eruption in the fifth inning, the No. 9 Rangers (4-1) managed to jump in front and hold on for an important, 6-4 Merrimack Valley Conference win over the No. 14 Middies.
