NEW YORK - Stocks fell in morning trading on Wall Street Monday and bond yields rose as investors face a mostly quiet week that will be capped by a closely watched update on inflation.
The S&P 500 fell 1.1% as of 10:20 a.m. Eastern. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 288 points, or 0.8%, to 34,141 and the Nasdaq fell 1.2%.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury, which influences mortgage rates, rose to 3.60% from 3.49% late Friday.

NEW YORK - Stocks are opening lower on Wall Street, with the exception of energy companies, which rose along with the price of oil. Crude prices were up almost 3% early Monday after a group of world leaders agreed to a boycott of most Russian oil and China loosened some COVID restrictions.
