Acton-Boxboro's Parlman take girls singles tennis title, Wellesley bests Notre Dame in doubles

SHREWSBURY - Ashleigh Parlman spent much of her freshman year going toe to toe and matching the booming shots with some of the best tennis players in the state. The Acton-Boxboro star was successful on the court, but she wasn't playing to her absolute strength
Parlman went out and reinvented herself this season and it paid off with a state singles championship yesterday at St. John's in Shrewsbury.
Parlman resorted to a majority of top spin shots and defended against the tough rolling forehand shots from Notre Dame's Alex Prudente to win in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
