Renegade Dems grabbing spotlight, control from Pelosi

My editor said I was mistaken when I began a Trump impeachment column by quoting U.S. House Speaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
“She's not the speaker,” he said, “Nancy Pelosi is.”
“Sir,” I responded, “with all due respect, I beg to differ. Nancy Pelosi may wield the gavel, but the power behind the throne is AOC.
“Bull,” he said.
“Or, to put it in a more learned way,” I said, “Nancy Pelosi may be Speaker de jure but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is Speaker de facto .” I added, “It's like the tail wagging the dog.”
Dazzled by my knowledge of Latin, the law and dogs, he backed off.
