A 60-year-old woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after a driver hit her while she was crossing the street in South Boston and drove off, police said.
The woman was crossing Day Boulevard in the area of K Street shortly after 7:15 a.m. Monday when she was struck by a car traveling toward L Street, according to State police. She was taken to a Boston hospital where she currently remains.
The vehicle is believed to be a silver or light beige, mid-to-late-2000s Lincoln Town Car with damage on the front driver's side and a broken off side-view mirror, police said. The sedan also has dark tint on its rear passenger windows and its rear window, but not on the front windows.
Police are asking anyone with information about the crash, the vehicle in question or the driver to call 617-740-7710.
