Second helping of season's first snow hits Boston

The season's first snowstorm delivered its second wallop Tuesday with flakes flying across the eastern part of the state with scores of schools closed and a spate of accidents on highways.
A jack-knifed truck on interstate 95 in Sharon blocked all lanes on the southbound side earlier this morning, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
A single car rollover on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Framingham closed two lanes until it was cleared just before 9 a.m., according to MassDOT.
The transportation agency reports that as of 8 a.m. there were 2,795 pieces of equipment out on the roads clearing the way. Road conditions are wet to slush, snow covered, according to Mass DOT.
The National Weather Service reported around 8:30 a.m. formation of a heavy band of snow dropping 1-2 inches an hour on a north-south contour from Fitchburg to Brimfield.
Forecasts call for 4-8 inches across most of the eastern part of the state with higher totals possible in the northeast part of...
