All 11 US airlines are running Black Friday sales, but the meager discounts are just another sign of an industry in crisis - here's the list

Summary List Placement Black Friday is here, and airlines are looking to get a jump on 2021 travel bookings after a lackluster Thanksgiving.
All 11 major US airlines have some kind of Black Friday special with discounted flights and other enticing specials but one problem facing all airlines is that flying now is already incredibly cheap compared to last year. The pandemic's toll on airlines has forced fares down between 30%-40% from last year, Liana Corwin, consumer travel expert for Hopper, said in an interview with Business Insider.
So instead of ridiculously low fares, airlines are encouraging now customers to book in advance for 2021 and lock in the great rates for the future. Demand is expected to meaningfully increase and prices will normalize, making now one of the best times to snag a deal for next year, according to Corwin.
Airlines are also pushing their new flexibility initiatives over great prices as four airlines have eliminated change fees and others are waiving the fees for 2020 bookings...
