DALLAS - Un error administrativo que cometió un banco del norte de Texas convirtió a una mujer en millonaria durante un día.
Cuando la residente de Dallas, Ruth Balloon, revisó su estado de cuenta a principios de la semana, tenía más dinero del esperado: 37 millones de dólares más para ser exactos, reportó la televisora KTVT-TV.
Balloon hubiera preferido creer que “realmente alguien nos regaló esos 37 millones de dólares”, pero sabía que era demasiado bueno para ser verdad.
Su esposo llamó a su banco, LegacyTexas, que le informó a la pareja que el dinero adicional no era un milagro de Navidad, sino un error. El banco pidió disculpas y retiró el dinero de la cuenta.
El banco le dijo a la televisora en un comunicado que incluso si Balloon no se hubiera dado cuenta del error, se habría detectado y lo habrían corregido. El banco indicó que se atendió la equivocación del registro manual que generó el error.
