¿Habrá convención republicana? Todo depende de Trump

WASHINGTON - Después de meses de insistir en que la Convención Nacional Republicana se desarrollara según lo programado a pesar de la pandemia, el presidente Donald Trump está llegando lentamente a aceptar que el evento de fines de agosto no será el infomercial de cuatro noches que había anticipado.
Luego de un cambio de sede, el repunte de los casos de coronavirus y una fuerte recesión, colaboradores y aliados de Trump se preguntan cada vez más si vale la pena, e incluso algunos ya están proponiendo que la convención se elimine por completo. Estos argumentan que las convenciones buscan establecer la visión de un candidato para los próximos cuatro años, no provocar meses de intriga sobre la salud y la seguridad de los asistentes.
Al final, la decisión sobre si seguir adelante será solo de Trump.
El evento de 2020 ya ha tenido un cambio de sede, a un territorio más amigable con Trump en Jacksonville, Florida, desde Charlotte, Carolina del Norte. Por razones técnicas, la convención no podrá adoptar...
