India: Partido de Modi pierde control de estado clave

NUEVA DELHI - El partido del primer ministro indio Narendra Modi sufrió un gran revés el lunes en el estado de Maharashtra, en el occidente del país, luego que un viejo aliado rompió filas y se unió a otros dos partidos para formar el nuevo gobierno estatal.
El Shiv Sena se desligó del gobernante Partido Bharatiya Janata y decidió formar un gobierno de coalición con los oponentes claves del PBJ, el Partido del Congreso y el Partido del Congreso Nacional.
El partido de Modi ganó la mayoría de los puestos en las elecciones del estado de Maharashtra el mes pasado y se esperaba que mantuviera el poder en el estado, sede de la capital financiera de India, Mumbai.
Pero después de que las negociaciones políticas entre los dos aliados fracasaron, ellos se separaron, asestando el primer gran revés político al partido de Modi luego que retuvo el poder en la elección general de mayo.
