Republicanos y demócratas prometen transición pacifica

WASHINGTON - Los líderes demócratas y republicanos en el Congreso estadounidense respondieron rápidamente luego que el presidente Donald Trump declinó comprometerse con una transferencia pacífica del poder si pierde en la elección de noviembre.
Trump dijo en una conferencia de prensa el miércoles que: “Veremos qué pasa”, en respuesta a una pregunta sobre si respetaría los resultados. “Saben que me he estado quejando muy fuertemente sobre las boletas, y las boletas son un desastre”.
Mitch McConnell y otros líderes del Partido Republicano no titubearon a la hora de comprometerse con una transferencia pacífica si Trump pierde.
“El ganador de la elección del 3 de noviembre será juramentado el 20 de enero”, dijo McConnell, líder de la mayoría senatorial, en un tuit. “Va a haber una transición ordenada, como la ha habido cada cuatro años desde 1792”.
