Mira Ricardel still at White House despite Melania Trump's call for her ouster

One day after first lady Melania Trump's office called for the ouster of deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel, a White House official confirmed Wednesday that Ricardel is still employed there. The first lady's rare public foray into West Wing personnel battles reportedly stems from a dust up between Ricardel and the East Wing over a recent trip to Africa, as well as suspicions that Ricardel was responsible for unflattering stories about Melania Trump. Ricardel has also been accused of contributing to tension at the National Security Council, along with her boss, national security adviser John Bolton, and has reportedly played a role in the worsening of relations between the White House and Pentagon.
