Tyson Foods has recalled more than 39,000 pounds of its Weaver brand chicken patties after learning the product could be contaminated with “extraneous materials”.
The recall, made in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, is the third major recall by Tyson this year.
The patties, which are found in 26-oz resealable bags carry a “Best if used by” date of Jan 31, 2020 and the establishment number “P-13456” on the back of the product package. Affected lot codes are 0319PBF0617, 0319PBF0618, 0319PBF0619, 0319PBF0620, 0319PBF0621, 0319PBF0622...

Nearly 40,000 pounds' worth of chicken has been recalled by US food inspectors.
The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a recall on Thursday advising customers to throw out Weaver frozen chicken breast patties after finding that they may be contaminated with "extraneous materials."
The US has been hit by a wave of food recalls in recent years. According to a recent report from Public Interest Research Group , the total number of food recalls in the US increased by 10% between 2013 and 2018, hitting a peak of 905 in 2016.
