Pedestrian struck and killed by commuter rail train in Gloucester

A person is dead after being struck by a commuter rail train in Gloucester, officials said.
MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo and Gloucester Police confirmed that a railroad trespasser was struck by a train shortly before 6 a.m. on the Gloucester branch of the Rockport/Newburyport line.
Details surrounding the incident and the person were not immediately available. Transit police said foul play is not suspected.
The incident has caused significant delays on the Rockport/Newburyport, Haverhill, and even Fitchburg lines of the commuter rail.
