Abortion advocacy groups in Georgia have long been preparing for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. However, the recent draft leak from the Supreme Court still enraged and saddened those of us who do reproductive justice work every day.
As a Black woman who manages local campaigns to expand abortion access in Georgia, reading Justice Alito's words reminded me of the oppressive history of the United States Supreme Court. This is the same court that told my ancestors they were three-fifths of a person in the 1857 Dred Scott case.

They're kicking off what some organizers are calling are kicking off what some are calling a “summer of rage.” Protesters in New York shut down the Brooklyn Bridge while others marched all the way to the Supreme Court.

ST., Minn. - In light of the leaked draft majority opinion by the Supreme Court posed to undo federal protections for abortion access, thousands took to the streets of St. Paul on Saturday to make their voices heard.
The rally was held outside Planned Parenthood on Vandalia Street.
“I don't think it's anybody's business to say what women can do with their bodies. I'm a healthcare provider, and I think abortion is healthcare,” Kirsten Johnson said.
