The CDC updated its mask guidance Thursday afternoon, relaying to the public that fully vaccinated people will no longer have to wear masks indoors or outdoors in most settings.
Fully vaccinated people will no longer have to adhere to social distancing guidelines as well.
There are some caveats, however. The CDC encouraged people who have weak immune systems, such as from organ transplants or cancer treatment, to talk with their doctors before shedding their masks. WASHINGTON - In a major step toward returning to pre-pandemic life, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eased mask-wearing guidance for fully vaccinated people on Thursday, allowing them to stop wearing masks outdoors in crowds and in most indoor settings.
“Today is a great day for America,” President Joe Biden said during a Rose Garden address heralding the new guidance.
