Pedestrian paradise: Walkers rule Dartmouth Street in 10-day experiment

The city launched a pedestrian friendly experiment Tuesday, shutting down Dartmouth Street between Copley Square, for 10 days.
“Opening Dartmouth Street to pedestrians will unify and complement planned initiatives and investments into Copley Square Park and the Public Library's Plaza,” the city's planning agency said in a release.
The street will be open to walkers, and closed to cars, from 10-8 p.m. each day through June 17. The pilot is being dubbed “Connect Copley” is part of an effort by the Boston Planning & Development Agency to study the future use of Dartmouth Street between...
