Hollywood pals aren't the only ones mourning the sudden death of Kirstie Alley, one of the immortal faces behind Boston's most famous bar.
“Kirstie was a wonderful person,” said Thomas Kershaw, who built the Bull & Finch Pub in the basement of an old mansion at 84 Beacon St., a bar that would become the blueprint for Cheers, the Boston neighborhood bar on TV where everybody knew your name.
Alley would join the show in its sixth season as a new character - Rebecca Howe, a manager for the new corporate owners. The character would serve as the new love interest and foil to womanizing...
