This summer, movie theater owners are betting the pandemic will finally be behind us. Receipts from “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” suggest this may already the case. According to Variety, theaters will also be adding a “surcharge” of $1 or $2 to the “most in-demand tickets” this summer, presumably to accelerate their return to fiscal health, but ouch for families hitting the multiplexes.
