Yawkey Foundation gives homes shelter $15 million

The Yawkey Foundation is giving New England's largest homeless shelter $15 million to build housing for the homeless.
“A roof over someone's head is not the endpoint but the beginning,” said Maureen Bleday, the foundation's CEO. “This is going to give hundreds of previously homeless people a new beginning. Once you have that roof over your head it can stabilize many things in your life.”
The gift is the largest single one the inn has received its history, and will be used to accelerate the expansion of the organization's housing program by creating 400 to 500 new units of permanent...
