July filings show leading Republican essentially broke, Healey flush with cash

Two self-funded candidates for statewide offices show huge margins of available cash compared to their opponents, some of whom are struggling to stay afloat at all, according to a recent round of campaign finance postings.
Former state Rep. Geoff Diehl's campaign, for example, isn't doing so well.
According to the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance, Diehl's campaign for the governor's office reported just $42,889 on hand to end July. He reported over $140,000 in expenditures during the month.
His opponent, Wrentham businessman Chris Doughty, is running a self-funded campaign...
