Family of man killed by train in Beverly sues MBTA, city for wrongful death

The family of a man struck and killed by a train in Beverly in 2019 filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the MBTA, Keolis, the city and the driver, saying that proper procedure was not followed to alert the victim of the oncoming train.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court Monday by Rose Shumow, a Florida resident and personal representative of the estate of Moses Shumow, who was killed on the commuter rail tracks on the morning of Oct. 22, 2019.
