WEYMOUTH - When Mike Slonina first founded ‘A Shot for Life' over a decade ago, even he had a hard time envisioning just how rapidly his foundation would grow during the never-ending war with cancer.
Yet, here it is in 2023, and his project has morphed from an annual basketball fundraiser into a regional movement spanning multiple sports. The latest event to be added? That would be the ASFL Courage Cup, a series of All-Star soccer games held at the Union Point Sports Complex this past month.
