Boston police and licensing board warn of spiked drinks

Boston police are warning bar and nightclub patrons that someone could spike their drink with a dangerous drug when they're not looking, and the Licensing Board is putting establishments on notice that their license will be suspended if they fail to take steps to protect customers.
“We're investigating several reports over the last few weeks, mainly in the downtown area,” Sgt. Detective John Boyle said, adding that none of the incidents so far has resulted in a rape.
Police specifically are warning of scentless, colorless and tasteless drugs such as Rohypnol, also known as “roofie”; gamma-hydroxybutyric acid ; or Ketamine. All of them can cause disorientation, temporary paralysis and unconsciousness.
Police recommend that customers be sure their drink is served only by their server or the bartender, keep their hand over their drink if they're not looking at it and never leave it unattended, even if they have to go to the bathroom with it. Patrons should get help immediately if they begin to feel strange...
